Monday Market Briefing - 12th April 2021

All markets were firmer as last week progressed, gaining £3-4 in what looked like an early taster of the weather markets we could see plenty of this spring/summer. Cold, dry weather is currently a feature in several northern hemisphere areas including the US and north-west Europe where the ten day forecast offers little change. New crop remains £6 off the highs and might not find the volume of buying interest just yet to get back up there. That said, it was encouraging to see new crop interest from our traditional European markets appearing. We will need them back on board this year.

Harvest markets currently offer great value on most grades and its worth having a look if you know you are tight for barn space this year and before the weather improves and markets turn cautious again.

Have a good week and stay safe.
