Fertiliser Markets - Q4 forecast

Nitrogen

Bartholomews fertiliser.jpg

Nitrogen values are globally firm. Despite slow activity Gas costs are rising and with the demand /supply curve balanced, prices are unlikely to fall. These higher replacement values are inevitable for the UK as current stocks are depleted.

Bartholomews are offering an extensive range of Limus protected Urea and Urea + Sulphur and Polysulphate. The benefits of Limus® protected Urea include:

o   Limus® delivers equivalent yields to CAN & AN

o   Limus® reduces greenhouse gas and ammonia emissions on farm

o   Limus® improves yield by 10% versus unprotected urea in Barts trials

o   Limus® contains two actives for optimal efficacy

o   Limus® offers more than 12 months storage stability

Phosphates

Phosphate values are rising from 10-year lows, with Potash values somewhat unchanged. Belarus is one of the largest potash producers in the world, and with the current political unrest, we will see firmer prices due to the drop in production and tightening of global supply. This will also impact Potash Plus and Polysulphate pricing.

Polysulphate

Bartholomews are supplying an extensive range of PK Plus fertilisers using Polysulphate based products. The benefits include:

o    Multi-nutrient fertiliser, containing four essential macro-nutrients

o    Fully soluble, with all nutrients available for plant uptake

o    Prolonged nutrient release rate, reduced risk of sulphate losses through leaching

o    Delivers superior yields improved quality, increased profitability

Phosphate.jpeg

o    Enhances crop health and vigor

o    The low chloride content makes it ideal for chloride-sensitive crops

o    Excellent spreading characteristics, it spreads evenly up to 36m

o    Low carbon footprint fertilizer, helps growers achieve carbon target demands

o    Containing boron (B), a key micronutrient

o    Low salt index and neutral pH with no negative effect on soil

BREXIT

The deadline draws ever closer to a conclusion

o   No deal certainly now a real possibility from JAN 1st

o   6% tariffs would apply to all Nitrate products from the new year

o   Phosphates would also be hit, but potash grades exempt

o   The closer we get to JAN the more volatile the GBP £ will get over € & $

o   This could mean higher values for Imports across the board
