Why should you order crop nutrition requirements before the New Year?

The New Year may seem a while away, but for markets, it seems to be a point of confluence for volatile fertiliser pricing. We've put 5 top reasons why markets look set for an upward trajectory into 2021.

  • Brexit could see Tariffs introduced to imported prices, such as 6% on Nitrogen (up £12 to £15 per tonne on Tariffs alone). Additionally, we could see further weakness to the £ - increasing the costs of imported fertiliser.

  • The Urea markets have started to awaken & firm, as news that India are ready to start buying again.

  • After months of a weaker Phosphate market, where we saw low demand & over supply, has been replaced by stronger demand & production cutbacks. Further price increases are expected. (Possible additional 6% Tariffs on Phosphate due to Brexit)

  • Fertiliser supply may well be affected by Brexit and the continued impact of Covid-19.

  • It is advised growers take cover before the increase in gas prices inevitably takes a firm hold over the winter period, increase costs of production.
