Assistant Site Manager - Southampton Docks

About the Role:

Directly supporting the site manager to oversee all operations at the site. Ensuring that the facility runs as efficiently as possible and so that we are able to deliver quality nutrient blends for our farmer customers to grow arable cereal crops.

The role will encompass all aspects of plant operations, shipping activity, supervision of the team, broadly the day-to-day duties will include:

· Coordinating ships arrivals and departures.

· Off-loading and storage of raw materials.

· Oversee the blending and bagging process from start to finish.

· Overseeing operations from the control room to run all plant throughput.

· Loading finished product by fork-lift onto our own Churchill Freight Services Ltd lorries.

· Helping to supervise, organise, support, and motivate the team.

Skills and Experience:

Fork-Lift Truck operation, with a minimum of 1 years’ experience and confident with a counterbalance,

Experience of driving a Volvo shovel would be advantageous.

There will be some manual handling as part of the role, demanding a reasonable level of fitness.

Previous similar work experience gained within a port-side side environment would be preferred.

Knowledge of MS office, Excel or equivalent Operations System and confident with working with a control panel.

You will need to be organised, able to run systems and process with attention to detail to ensure processes are maintained.

Good communicator with the ability to lead from the front.
