No farmer wants to use more crop protection products than absolutely necessary. Quite apart from the potential environmental impact, it’s a waste of two precious resources: time and money.
‘I work with Bartholomews because I get the
best advice, not just good advice.’
Our crop protection service combines the latest science with environmental compliance
…with added benefits
At Bartholomews, we never forget our business is based on the long-term success of you, our customers. One expression of this is the Breakfast Meetings we organise to keep you up-to-date with the market information we receive from primary crop processors – in fact we challenge you to find a team of agronomists who are more closely linked to European and domestic primary processors. Another is the Voluntary Initiative Workshops we arrange for customers to promote environmental awareness in line with government policy.
We sincerely believe Bartholomews can make a difference both to the health of your crop, and the health of your bottom line. To find out more, just give us a call on 01243 755 610.

This is a view every member of our crop protection team would enthusiastically endorse. Their role is to recommend those crop protection products you need to guarantee your crop achieves your quality and price targets, and no more. And that’s a promise.

learned – including assessing new products – help us develop a truly independent perspective that feeds directly into our advice.
This personal expertise is supported by the Muddy Boots software package. As well as giving us the ability to perform margin

per acre analyses for different products, it acts as a fail-safe against recommending prohibited product combinations. Muddy Boots also gives us a full history of the products used on your crop, which can be an invaluable marketing tool when selling to the increasing number of European primary processors now seeking traceability as part of their quality criteria.

A full, but flexible service…
Bartholomews offers a full crop protection service, but you’re free to use as much – or as little – as you need. You can buy both advice and products from us as a whole package; you can ask for advice alone; or you can simply use us as a product supplier.
Our crop protection service is managed by a dedicated team at our Chichester premises, so no matter how urgent your query or requirement, we will always have someone on hand to help, and we can deliver next-day.
It’s also reassuring to know that all our agronomists have liability insurance and, in the rare event of product failure, we can call on full back-up and support from the manufacturer.

‘Bartholomews is the independent company with technical
excellence, sound advice and friendly service.’
