Our own fleet of vehicles means timely pick-ups and deliveries are all part of the service
Time spent hanging around for a truck to arrive – whether it’s to deliver your inputs, or to take away your harvested crop – is time wasted. We know it’s a luxury few farmers can afford in today’s climate of low margins and reduced headcount. To keep your labour employed as efficiently as possible, you need to be able to rely on your deliveries arriving on time. This is why we have built up our own transport business – called Churchill Freight Services (CFS).
Our CFS fleet numbers some 25 commercial vehicles. Half are bulk

vehicles with tippers for carrying up to 29 tonne loads, with the remainder being a mix of articulated lorries, six-wheelers and vans. Although they take on some third party contracts when demand from our agricultural clients is low, their primary function is to serve the needs of our agricultural and grain buying customers.

A helping hand at harvest-time
The advantages of having our own fleet of commercial vehicles certainly become apparent in peak periods, particularly harvest-time. It gives us the capacity to respond at short notice when our farmers need crops taking away to free-up storage space so they can continue harvesting while the weather holds. It also means

our primary processor customers can rely on the prompt, early delivery of the crops on which their businesses depend. And because our vehicles are TASCC approved, they can be confident the quality of their crop deliveries will not be compromised.

A responsive service
A delivery service is ultimately only as good as its vehicles, drivers and management.

Our vehicles are replaced on a rolling replacement plan, so their reliability record is amongst the best in the marketplace. We also have a full office-based team dedicated to keeping the fleet operating at maximum efficiency.
But the people who ultimately deliver the CFS service are our drivers. Their pride in providing the highest quality service is evident in everything from the way they

keep you informed should they encounter any delays, to their friendliness and eagerness to help at your premises.
